Breast cancer awareness Saanen doe Mariska.  Pictured with Kristin & Tyler Wetzel and Kelsey Milt at the Jeffferson County, Illinois fair.  These kids decorated Mariska in honor of myself and another friend Tanya Wells after we both fought "Like a girl" and are still winning our battle with breast cancer.  Thank you kids this meant so much to me! I miss you guys!!!!!!

March 1999-October 2011

My sidekick,  Dixie is "guarding" a bottle baby.  She won't let either of the two indoor/outdoor cats close to her baby.  She is the house guardian dog.  When we hatch chicks in the incubator she won't leave it's side until the last chick is hatched.   Dixie has always accepted the responsibility of mothering every creature I've brought home.  One of her favorites was "her" litter of abandoned kittens.  Dixie just turned 12 years old on March 21 and she is my best buddy....

The newest additon to our farm...Lucy Goosie...she or he just showed up one day and hasn't left.  She hangs around with the goats and seems pretty content.

Mothers Day 2011...I can't think of a better way to have spent it than watching some of my favorite kids playing. .
