Meet the Outlaw Josie Rose.  She is  quite possibly one of the smartest LGD's I have seen.  She is very in tune to everything going on in her pasture...both on the ground & in the air.  She will see buzzards gliding over head and is immediately on the alert.  It's amazing how these dogs are able to determine what could be a potential threat to their goats.  I have seen herons and geesse fly over and she barely looks at them. After the move back to Missouri, Belle & Josie are now patroling the entire farm.  Sterling is getting a little age on him now so we felt he could use some help.  They seem to like this new arrangement and are doing a great job keeping watch.  They even have some cows and calves to watch over now. Thankfully the dogs are smart enough not to get too close to a Mama cow and her new calf.

Any landscaping will do  when a Pyr wants to make a bed in it.  That's ok because we love Sterling and he faithfully watches over us.  

We have a pond on the back of our farm that can be seen from my kitchen window. Early one morning several years ago I could see two or three coyotes along the bank of this pond.  All of the sudden out of nowwhere a huge ball of white came flying out of the woods and ran right  through the middle of these trespassers!  Sterling was out doing his morning patrol and he was not about to allow  these mangy coyotes  wander through his domain.
